To recap, I started the CaringBridge site in December 2016 after learning that I’d had a recurrence of the ovarian cancer that was originally diagnosed and went into remission in 2015. The name came from realizing that I wasn’t finished with cancer, chemo or life yet.
It wasn’t easy to come up with a name for this blog. A lot of the good names already were taken. I stuck with the “not finished” theme because I’ll always be dealing with the cancer in one way or another, even with it in remission again, and because I’m still not finished with life.
But I don’t want this blog to be all about cancer, although some references to it are inevitable. Still Not Finished will include articles I’ve had published elsewhere and essays written specifically for the blog. That’s as much of a mission statement as I can give you at the moment. The beauty of the blog is I’m setting the rules and I can change them anytime.
Thank you to my sister Patty for helping me set up the blog. I want to learn about the technical end of things so that eventually I can manage the blog myself, but it’s nice to have a friendly consultant to get it started.
